Yan Chai Residence

Chinney Construction deployed MiC technology to deliver two dual-storey residential blocks within just one year - now operating as Yan Chai Residence, a transitional housing initiative managed by Yan Chai Hospital. This project provides 212 residential units, including barrier-free accommodations, designed to alleviate housing pressures for public housing applicants and those living in substandard conditions. Each unit features a dedicated cooking area, separate toilet and shower facilities, complemented by communal open spaces and activity zones - creating a livable environment that enhances residents' quality of life.

Chinney Construction 's technological foresight proved advantageous when, in July 2021, its MiC methodology and components received in-principle pre-acceptance from the Buildings Department. This early approval positioned the company strategically for collaborative opportunities with NGOs in transitional housing development.

Completed in July 2023, the project’s distinctive feature lies in its eye-catching design of five cylindrical tube-shaped office pods.

WWF Jockey Club Mai Po Peter Scott Visitor Centre

Mai Po and Inner Deep Bay are home to over 2,000 species of flora and fauna, serving as a critical winter refuge for up to 100,000 migratory birds annually, which underscores their significant conservation value. The renovation project of the WWF Jockey Club Mai Po Peter Scott Visitor Centre, undertaken by Chinney Construction, implemented several special control measures given its proximity to the Mai Po Nature Reserve. These measures reduced environmental impact, noise pollution, and other disturbances to Mai Po and its surrounding areas to the minimum, including the following four initiatives:

.Additional sewerage and rainwater surface channels around site boundaries with drainage system to prevent from waste water into fish ponds;

.Noise barriers with high acoustic performance erected around the site to minimize noise transmission;

.During the visitor centre construction, scheduling noisy operations to start later in the morning and end earlier in the afternoon, in consideration of birds' daily foraging patterns; and

.Temporary relocation of bat houses to trees far away from the source of construction noise within the site to minimize disturbance to the animals living within the site, with restoration to original positions upon project completion.
